Why isn't 'Batgirl' a valid career choice?

The dapper dudes from Mayday Parade rocked 2008 on the Vans Warped Tour as well as on the Money Tour with All Time Low, The Maine and Every Avenue.  And now, they're setting up to rock 2009 in a whole new way: with a new album.


Alternative Press has reported that the boys are writing their follow-up to 2007's A Lesson in Romantics with tentative plans to release the CD this summer.  The as-of-yet untitled album will be released on Fearless records.

But what can fans expect from the new album?  Jake Bundrick, the band's drummer, updated their Myspace page to say "Everything we're bringing on our next record are things we love or things we're saying 'fuck yeah' about. If we can't feel it how should we expect you too.  He also talks about the problem with being honest while songwriting.  "You're (sic) friend brings you a song that he or she may have worked on for a horribly long time and put every ounce of themselves into it. You hear it. You judge it and realize you don't like it one bit. Then you have to tell your friend, whoever he or she may be, no matter how long they may have cherished it before handing it to you that you hate it. It's a shitty feeling, but that's what writing is all about."

Mayday Parade will also be one of the bands appearing on Punk Goes Pop 2, performing a cover of The Pussycat Doll's hit "When I Grow Up."  The first song from Pop Goes Punk 2 will actually be featured on the album's official MySpace page tomorrow, so be sure to stop by and give it a listen!
