Well, we might not be seeing her at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, but don't fret, she'll have plenty of material should they want her next year. Because Lady Gaga has announced that she has finished her follow up to last year's The Fame Monster.
“I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now," she reportedly said. But, wait, isn't that a little quick for a follow-up album? Her explanation is "It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.”
Lady Gaga had previously told fans she planned to announce the title of the new album in a rather unique way. “I think I’m gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo,” she mentioned in her Rolling Stone interview, and rumors were flying that the date and time of the release would be December 31st, 2010 at midnight, and that the picture would be posted via Twitter.
But what can we expect from the new album? Well, possibly something darker, or, in Lady Gaga's words, more bitter. “The message of the new music is now more bitter than it was before. Because the sweeter the cake, the more bitter the jelly can be.”
So what do you say, Buzznet? Excited for new Lady Gaga music?
