20 Questions with New Age Amazon

Let's face it, Buzznet, who doesn't want to be like El Rich?  And since I can't grow a bitchin' mustache like he can, I figure I'll do the next best thing and copy rip off follow the lead of his awesome vlog idea.

So, I will answer 20 questions, give or take.  Leave 'em for me and I might answer them.  Or not!  WHO KNOWS?

Of course, I will abandon this project should Mr. El Rich have any objections.

The Buzznet NOH8 Project

Since the passing of California Proposition 8 last year, which ammended the state consitution to define marriage as between one woman and one man, celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parashley have been working on a photoproject designed as a protest.  Called the NOH8 campaign, the photos feature everyday Californians as well as celebrities like Mark Hoppus, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and even Meghan McCain (daughter of Republican presidential nominee John McCain) with duct tape over their mouths and NoH8 written on their cheeks. Get involved

King of Pop Michael Jackson Passes Away at 50

It's been confirmed by the Los Angeles Times that Michael Jackson, ground breaking pop star and highly influential musician, has passed away at the age of 50.  The cause of death was apparently cardiac arrest. Sadness...

A Long Time Ago, On a Record Label Far, Far Away...

So, apparently Pete Wentz kept a big secret from fans.  When the Fall Out Boy bassist celebrated his 30th birthday earlier this month, he did it in style and with a theme.

A Star Wars theme.

Apparently, Pete dressed up as everyone's favorite smuggler with a price on his head, Han Solo.  And his wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, followed theme and dressed as Princess Leia.

But there are a lot of characters in Star Wars.  And it appears that Pete and Ashlee may have been the only two dressed to theme.  Though, My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way did apologize over Twitter for not wearing his Boba Fett costume.

Even that still leaves a lot of Star Wars characters unaccounted for.  So I have taken it upon myself to recast Star Wars with Pete's bandmates, labelmates and a few special guests.

PATRICK STUMP AS LUKE SKYWALKER

Patrick is the seemingly more calm and collected Luke to Pete's brash and outright Han.  Also, Patrick's voice is kind of like the Jedi mind trick: if he sings it at you, you will probably obey him.

ANDY HURLEY AS MASTER YODA

Andy Hurley is tiny.  And, despite being in a world famous rock band, seems like sometimes he'd really just like to retreat to his cave and mock people while talking inside-out.

JOE TROHMAN AS CHEWBACCA

This is not a hair joke.  Okay, okay, this is not JUST a hair joke.  Because it ties back in with Pete as Han.  Han and Chewie, as you'll recall, were friends before Luke and Leia and Obi Wan and that whole mess.  They ran around in the Millenium Falcon avoiding Jabba and hanging out in canteenas.

If you're familiar with the foundation of Fall Out Boy?  It was Joe and Pete who started the band, picking up Patrick and Andy along the way.  Joe and Pete are the ORIGINAL crew of the Falcon.

Also: Joe has a lot of hair.

WILLIAM BECKETT AS C3PO AND ADAM SISKA AS R2-D2

There is no real explanation for this other than it amuses me.

PRINCE AS OBI WAN KENOBI

I could say that this is fitting because Prince is the idol who helped guide Patrick musically as Obi Wan guided Luke towards the goal of being a Jedi.

Instead, I'll admit it was just an excuse to imagine this exchange:
Patrick: I want to be a Jedi!  Like my father was before me!
Obi Prince Kenobi: Maybe you're just like your father.  Too bold.

GABE SAPORTA AS DARTH VADER

It is possible that Gabe Saporta has gone over to the dark side.  And no, I do not mean in any way that involves the term "Sell Out."  But don't worry, Vader was redeemed before his death.  This means Gabe can be as well!

PEREZ HILTON AS EMPEROR PALPATINE

...do I really even need to explain this one?

A Girl's Guide to Hunting and Trapping (RPatz)

So, for those of you who haven't heard, Robert Pattinson was hit by a car while being chased by rabid fans.  He wasn't hit very hard, but this raises an important point.

Girls today have no idea how to trap and then care for an RPatz.

This is no simple matter!  In my day, girls were expected to be able to trap an RPatz by the age of 13.  There were RPatz trapping Girl Scout badges.  You could buy RPatz trapping kits in stores.  Honestly, have we really moved so far into the computer age that the simple pleasure of trapping RPatzes has been lost to us? You need some guidance...

Jonas Brother Collaborate...with COMMON?

The non-threatening boyish good looks are the same and the purity rings are still in place, but it looks like Disney rockers The Jonas Brothers are changing at least a bit.   Their new album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, came out this week and all of the songs on this album are written or co-written by the trio of brothers.

But enough about that.  Somehow I am late to the party in finding out that THEY COLLABORATED WITH COMMON. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?

Fall Out Toy Works Comic to Debut this September

Listen to or read the lyrics to Fall Out Boy's song "Tiffany Blews" from their latest album Folie a Deux and you might get some interesting mental images or ideas.  But odds are, none of those ideas are the same as the ones Fall Out Boy's bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz has come up with.  Because Wentz isn't using the song as a single or as fodder for more merch from his Clandestine clothing line. Details ...

For those of you who were pumped about picking up tickets to any number of summer tours today during LiveNation's much hyped "No Fee Wednesday?"  Don't get your hopes up.  Because your dreams paying just for your tickets rather than an added $4 kajillion in fees to see this summer's biggest tours have been crushed by LiveNation and poor advertising.

See, it's called "No Fee Wednesday."  But you're still going to have to pay some additional fees. Um, what?

The Cab Gains a Tour, Loses a Member

Those boys who have made their name by mixing sounds from Michael Jackson, Fall Out Boy and N'Sync, The Cab, are about to head out on a huge headlining tour.  Suitably, the Sin City boys are calling the tour The "What Happens In Vegas" Tour.

But, unfortunately, the line up of the band has undergone a sudden, but major, change.  Alex "Singer" DeLeon has posted to his blog to let fans know that guitarist Ian Crawford has left The Cab. Read more...
