Yep! I have both Stitch and Bitch books! They're some of the ones I really highly recommend for beginners! I also tend to suggest "The Domi-knitrix" which sounds scary and even LOOKS a little scary, but honestly has some of the best step by step tutorials I've seen in a knitting book!

I also recommend the Stitch N Bitch books, and for me The Harmony guide of knitting techniques worked to get it through my hard head how to actually knit.

Oh, the Knit Pasties was the Naughty Needles book. Interesting patterns, not great step by step stuff.
The Dominitrix has very few patterns in it (but really REALLY cute ones!) and actually looks like it's bound in black vinyl.
